Tesla Model S High-Voltage Battery Diagnostics FAQ
Range changes alone do not establish a battery failure. Driving conditions, energy use, charging behavior and diagnostic findings need to be considered before recommending battery work.
Send the exact alert and describe charging limits, recent changes and any impact or water exposure. Include the VIN and repair history for your Tesla Model S; do not open the battery or high-voltage connections.
The findings establish the next step, which may be further inspection, repair assessment or replacement planning. No repair option can be guaranteed from an alert or range estimate alone.
Tell the team about previous work on the affected system, especially replaced assemblies or modifications. For Model S high-voltage battery diagnostics, the installed hardware needs to be checked along with the VIN; it may differ from an assumption based only on age.
