Tesla Model S Drive Unit FAQ
Report unusual drivetrain noise, vibration or propulsion alerts. Describe when the issue began and any recent repair or impact so the team can select the appropriate assessment.
The assessment considers the fitted drivetrain, fault information and possible mechanical causes. The exact scope depends on your symptoms and vehicle configuration.
Identify whether the symptom changes with acceleration, road speed or turning. A noise alone does not establish a failed drive unit.
Send the VIN, year and relevant history with photos or the exact warning message where applicable. Identify your preferred shop before arranging the drive unit visit.
