Tesla Model S Key Programming FAQ
The supported key type depends on the vehicle's configuration. Share the VIN and whether you need a card, fob or help with access so compatibility can be checked before booking.
Explain whether any working keys remain and provide the vehicle details. Confirm the identity and ownership documents required for your appointment with the team in advance.
No. A key-recognition issue differs from a mechanical door or latch fault. Describe what happens with each existing access method so the correct service is arranged.
Tell the team about previous work on the affected system, especially replaced assemblies or modifications. For Model S key programming, the installed hardware needs to be checked along with the VIN; it may differ from an assumption based only on age.
